Illustrator Tutorial on Text Treatment

Use a text that is converted to outlines.
Choose a font and Type out the Games to start.

Make sure the Appearance palette is visible and the Characters highlighted.

Apply a Stroke of 4.5 pt to the text with rounded caps and joins.

Make the Foreground transparent.

Duplicate the stroke layer in Appearance and change the stroke weight to 3 pt. Change the colour too.

Repeat the step 5 and change the stroke weight to 1.5 pt and the colour.

Choose the black layer.

Open Transform Effect. Check the Preview. Set Horizontal to 96%. Change the anchor point to the left. Press OK.

Choose the blue layer in the Appearance palette. Apply the Transform Effect with 101% Horizontal.

Choose the yellow layer and click on the right anchor point. Scale to 95% Horizontal

The letter will seem like the one shown below.

Select the Compound Path in the Appearance palette. Choose Warp Options and apply Arc set to Horizontal and 9%.

Apply a no blur Drop Shadow set to X = 0 and Y = 4 pt. Set it to Colour. Apply a custom gradient to the text by using the Gradient tool. Hold the Shift key down and then apply the gradient.

Now the text is complete.
